	16	+	AGENCY DIRECTOR DAVID ADAMS ON THE OCCASION OF HIS
	17	+	RETIREMENT.
18	18		WHEREAS, with great pride and special pleasure,
19	19		highest commendations are conveyed to David Adams on the
20	20		occasion of his retirement as the Director of the Escambia
21	21		County Emergency Management Agency; and
22	22		WHEREAS, David Adams has been a public servant for
23	23		the past 45 years as a volunteer firefighter; he also served
24	24		as Superintendent of Public Works for the Town of Flomaton,
25	25		Alabama, for 15 years; and he has served as Director of the
26	26		Escambia County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) for 19
27	27		years; and
28	28		WHEREAS, in his role with the county's EMA, Mr. Adams
29	29		has often served as a calming voice of reason in the face of
30	30		disastrous events; Escambia County has several creeks that
31	31		are prone to flooding during storms and its location in
32	32		South Central Alabama puts the county at risk of hurricane
33	33		and tropical storm damage; and
34	34		WHEREAS, some of the significant events that Mr.
35	35		Adams has participated in the mitigation and relief efforts
36	36		include the 2011 deadly tornado outbreak; Hurricanes Sally,
37	37		Michael, Irma, Nate, and Gustav, among many other severe
38	38		storms, and the 2020 Corona Virus Pandemic; now therefore,
39		-	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
40		-	HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That for his many years of public

74	74		highly commended, and this resolution is offered to him as
75	75		evidence of our high regard and with best wishes for
76	76		continued health and prosperity in his retirement.
