1717 HJR___ CELEBRATING THE LIFE AND MOURNING THE DEATH OF
1818 KIMBERLY BETH FANNING VAUGHN.
1919 WHEREAS, with an overwhelming sense of loss, we mourn
2020 the death, yet celebrate the life, of our good friend and
2121 colleague, Kimberly Beth Fanning Vaughn of Huntsville,
2222 Alabama, whose passing on November 17, 2024, at the age of
2323 59 years has left a void in the lives of her family and
2424 friends; a big-hearted and loving wife, mother, and
2525 grandmother, Kim was known for her gentle nature,
2626 generosity, and dedication to others; and
2727 WHEREAS, a remarkable leader, dedicated
2828 philanthropist, and consummate professional, Kimberly Vaughn
2929 left an indelible mark as the Madison County Legislative
3030 Director, tirelessly supporting the county's 14 state
3131 legislators; her visionary approach, combined with her deep
3232 commitment to public service and her unwavering dedication
3333 to her community, has left a lasting legacy of progress and
3434 positive change; and
3535 WHEREAS, born at Huntsville Hospital and raised in
3636 the town of New Hope, Kim graduated from New Hope High
3737 School in 1983; she married Rex Vaughn of Monrovia on
3838 February 25, 1989, and together they reared four children,
3939 all of whom, along with their families, have made Monrovia

7171 WHEREAS, she built her strong Christian faith from a
7272 young age, listening to the teachings of her grandfather,
7373 Reverend Denton Adams, at Killingsworth Cove Baptist Church;
7474 she later became a devoted member of Gracious Savior Church
7575 in Monrovia; and
7676 WHEREAS, of all Kim's gifts, her greatest was her
7777 remarkable ability to envision what others could not; she
7878 had a unique talent for transforming the simplest of things
7979 into something beautiful, whether it was food, clothing,
8080 having honed her advanced seamstress skills from her
8181 grandmother, Irene Fanning, or any other project she took
8282 on; everything Kim touched flourished under her creative
8383 direction; a prime example of her artistry was the kitchen
8484 she designed at Providence Baptist Church, where her vision
8585 came to life in a space that was both functional and
8686 beautiful; and
8787 WHEREAS, Kim had a deep love for cooking, not only
8888 for her family but also for those in need; after the
8989 devastating tornadoes struck North Alabama on April 27,
9090 2011, she was called upon to oversee kitchen operations at
9191 the Monrovia Community Center; for 10 days, she worked
9292 tirelessly, cooking, cleaning, and serving thousands of
9393 meals to law enforcement, first responders, and utility
9494 workers from five states; always with a heart full of
9595 service, she brought her four children along to help,
9696 teaching them the true meaning of compassion and community;

127127 WHEREAS, Kim was intentional, outgoing, and deeply
128128 service-oriented, with a keen eye for detail; she had a
129129 natural ability to ease the burdens of others, always going
130130 the extra mile to help; hospitality and community
131131 involvement were second nature to her, and she became widely
132132 known for her unwavering dedication to religious,
133133 governmental, and civic organizations; whether in service to
134134 her faith, her community, or those in need, Kim's commitment
135135 and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone she
136136 encountered; and
137137 WHEREAS, of Kim's many beautiful legacies, one stands
138138 out as simple, powerful, and eternal: She selflessly served
139139 others in their hour of need; and
140140 WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her father,
141141 Bobby Dean Fanning; father-in-law, Ronald Gray; and
142142 mother-in-law, Ann Vaughn; and
143143 WHEREAS, she was greatly loved and admired in life
144144 and her death is a grievous loss to her family and friends,
145145 including her beloved husband, Ronald "Rex" Gray Vaughn II;
146146 children, Carmen Vaughn Bragg (Sean), Hannah Vaughn Creed
147147 (Kaze), Ellie Vaughn Milby (Cole), and Carl Walton Vaughn
148148 (Whitney); grandchildren, Gray Michael Bragg, Graham Denton
149149 Bragg, R.G. Creed, and Marabelle Beth Milby; mother,
150150 Paulette Adams Fanning; sister, Amanda Fanning Browner
151151 (Doug); brother, Brad Fanning (Lea); and many in-laws,
152152 nieces, and nephews; and
153153 WHEREAS, a valued member of the community and loved
154154 by many, her passion for life will be remembered fondly; we

187187 memory will be cherished in the hearts and minds of those
188188 who were fortunate to know her; now therefore,
189189 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
190190 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Kimberly Beth
191191 Fanning Vaughn is recorded with deep sadness, and even as we
192192 mourn her death and the loss it represents to the State of
193193 Alabama, we also celebrate her life; this resolution is
194194 offered in highest tribute along with heartfelt sympathy to
195195 her family by Representative Reynolds, Representative Whitt,
196196 Representative Daniels, Representative Hall, Representative
197197 Lands, Representative Lomax, Representative Rigsby, and
198198 Representative Whorton.
