HR____ DECLARING UNWAVERING SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE ON THE
OCCASION OF THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF ITS INVASION BY THE
RUSSIAN FEDERATION.
WHEREAS, on February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation
launched an invasion of Ukraine, violating Ukraine's
sovereignty and threatening its independence and security;
and
WHEREAS, for the past three years, the people of
Ukraine have demonstrated extraordinary resilience, courage,
and determination despite relentless attacks on their homes,
communities, and fundamental freedoms; and
WHEREAS, Ukraine has endured the deliberate targeting
of residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and evacuation
corridors; the forced deportation and kidnapping of
Ukrainian children to Russian-controlled territories; and
the destruction of Ukraine's agricultural and energy
infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, despite these atrocities, the people of
Ukraine remain unyielding, proving that even in the face of
relentless bombardment and unspeakable suffering, their
spirit and commitment to self-determination will never be
extinguished; and
WHEREAS, Ukrainians and Ukrainian-Americans have
enriched our communities through their leadership and

enriched our communities through their leadership and
contributions to agriculture, business, academia,
government, and the arts; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That this body declares its
unwavering support to Ukraine, affirming the principles of
sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity within
internationally recognized borders.
