1515 HR____ HONORING MRS. HARRIET CLARK FOR 40 YEARS OF
1616 DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, THE
1717 HUNTSVILLE MADISON COUNTY COMMUNITY, AND THE STATE OF
1818 ALABAMA.
1919 WHEREAS, the State of Alabama recognizes and honors
2020 individuals who have dedicated their lives to public
2121 service, contributing to the strength and progress of our
2222 nation and the local community; and
2323 WHEREAS, Harriet Clark has faithfully served the
2424 United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command
2525 (USASMDC) for an outstanding 40 years, demonstrating an
2626 unwavering commitment to excellence and integrity; and
2727 WHEREAS, through her dedication, expertise, and
2828 professionalism, Mrs. Clark has played a vital role in
2929 advancing the mission of USASMDC, ensuring the security and
3030 defense of our nation through her contributions; and
3131 WHEREAS, her work and leadership have had a lasting
3232 impact on her colleagues, the defense community, and the
3333 residents of Huntsville, inspiring others to follow in her
3434 footsteps in public service and national defense; and
3535 WHEREAS, Mrs. Clark's four decades of government
3636 service exemplify the highest standards of duty, patriotism,
3737 and selflessness, leaving behind a legacy that will be
3838 remembered for years to come; and

6969 WHEREAS, Mrs. Clark has also dedicated four decades
7070 to the advancement and well-being of the Huntsville
7171 Community; she has exemplified unwavering commitment to
7272 civil rights and social justice through her involvement with
7373 the National Association for the Advancement of Colored
7474 People (NAACP); and
7575 WHEREAS, she has extended her leadership and service
7676 through active participation in esteemed organizations,
7777 including The National Coalition of 100 Black Women and The
7878 Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, also known as "The Boulé"; and
7979 WHEREAS, her philanthropic endeavors encompass
8080 support for various charitable causes, notably: the Patricia
8181 Haley Charity, a Huntsville-based nonprofit providing free
8282 services and resources to cancer patients, the elderly, and
8383 families facing financial hardship; Compassion
8484 International, an organization dedicated to releasing
8585 children from poverty worldwide; and the Manna House of
8686 Huntsville, a local initiative involved in programs such as
8787 providing meals for school children; and
8888 WHEREAS, Mrs. Clark's leadership has resulted in the
8989 initiation of vital community projects, the holding of
9090 significant leadership positions, the receipt of prestigious
9191 awards, and the influencing of important policy changes, all
9292 of which have contributed to the betterment of Huntsville
9393 and its residents; now therefore,
9494 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9595 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Harriet Clark is hereby
9696 recognized and commended for her extraordinary 40 years of

131131 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this

134134 distinguished service, which have left an indelible mark on
135135 the City of Huntsville, the State of Alabama, and our Nation
136136 that will inspire generations to come.
