15	15	HR____ HONORING THE NORTH ALABAMA BOYS FOR HURRICANE RELIEF
16	16	EFFORTS.
17	17	WHEREAS, Hurricane Helene made landfall in North
18	18	Carolina in late September 2024, leaving widespread
19	19	devastation, displacing families, and causing extensive
20	20	damage to infrastructure and communities; and
21	21	WHEREAS, the hurricane claimed at least 104 lives and
22	22	necessitated hundreds of millions of dollars in federal
23	23	disaster relief aid to begin rebuilding efforts in the
24	24	affected areas; and
25	25	WHEREAS, the North Alabama Boys, a dedicated group of
26	26	volunteers led by Rand Hutchison, Adron Davis, and many
27	27	others, selflessly organized and executed relief efforts to
28	28	provide aid to those in need; and
29	29	WHEREAS, Rand Hutchison, along with Adron Davis,
30	30	Hunter Teague, Todd Griffith, Jason Spradling, Craig
31	31	Livingston, Andy Villarreal, Wes Trammel, Zach Knight, Jay
32	32	Hollenbeck, Jonathan Bunn, and Brad Sharp, traveled to
33	33	Fairview, North Carolina, focusing on cooking and feeding
34	34	disaster victims and relief workers, serving over 600 meals
35	35	in a single day and preparing over 1,000 ribeye steak
36	36	sandwiches and 1,000 breakfast burritos; and
37	37	WHHEREAS, the second group, consisting of Johnny
38	38	Maxwell, Sharon Maxwell, Anthony Maxwell, David Lawson,

68	68	Maxwell, Sharon Maxwell, Anthony Maxwell, David Lawson,
69	69	Linda Lawson, Jamie Lawson, and Willie Eaton, among others,
70	70	made a total of 30 relief trips, with Anthony Maxwell making
71	71	11 trips and additional volunteers making multiple journeys
72	72	to deliver essential supplies and assistance; and
73	73	WHEREAS, through their combined efforts, the North
74	74	Alabama Boys raised and collected approximately $350,000 in
75	75	cash and goods for the people of Western North Carolina,
76	76	providing direct relief to impacted families and
77	77	communities; and
78	78	WHEREAS, in addition to providing meals, the North
79	79	Alabama Boys assisted the Yancey County Humane Society by
80	80	delivering a full trailer load of Hill's Science Diet pet
81	81	food and relocating their storage shed to the proper
82	82	location, ensuring continued care for displaced and affected
83	83	animals; and
84	84	WHEREAS, recognizing the need for sustainable,
85	85	ongoing disaster relief efforts, the North Alabama Boys have
86	86	taken steps to establish a nonprofit organization with the
87	87	mission of providing disaster and weather relief to affected
88	88	communities within a 48-hour response window; and
89	89	WHEREAS, the dedication, selflessness, and generosity
90	90	of these volunteers exemplify the highest ideals of
91	91	community service, neighborly compassion, and humanitarian
92	92	aid; now therefore,
93	93	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
94	94	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we hereby recognize and honor
95	95	the North Alabama Boys for their extraordinary commitment to
96	96	disaster relief efforts, their unwavering support for the
