1515 HR___ HONORING MS. BEULAH BALLARD TONEY FOR HER DEDICATION
1616 TO JUSTICE AND EQUALITY.
1717 WHEREAS, highest commendations and congratulations
1818 are herein extended to Ms. Beulah Ballard Toney for her
1919 relentless fight for justice and equality; and
2020 WHEREAS, Ms. Toney, a native of Limestone County,
2121 Alabama, embodies the essence of dedicated service and
2222 unwavering commitment; a proud alumna of Trinity High
2323 School, Alabama A&M University, and La Salle University,
2424 where she studied data processing, her journey has been
2525 marked by a steadfast pursuit of justice and equality; and
2626 WHEREAS, Ms. Toney marched alongside fellow activists
2727 in the Civil Rights Movement in Huntsville, Alabama, where
2828 her courageous actions helped pave the way for progress and
2929 social change; and
3030 WHEREAS, throughout her illustrious career, she has
3131 exemplified honor, integrity, and distinction, tirelessly
3232 laboring to uplift communities and champion causes close to
3333 her heart; despite often operating in the shadows, her
3434 contributions have left an indelible mark on countless
3535 lives; and
3636 WHEREAS, Ms. Toney's accolades include founding the
3737 Beulah Ballard Toney Scholarship; being named the 2023
3838 recipient of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Award, Alpha

6969 Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Huntsville, Alabama;
7070 serving as past leader for Girl Scouts of America,
7171 Incorporated; and being named the 2024 recipient of the
7272 National Civil Rights and Social Justice Award; and
7373 WHEREAS, for six decades, Ms. Toney has been a beacon
7474 of leadership, assuming various, pivotal roles within the
7575 community; her pioneering spirit and selfless dedication
7676 have propelled her to the forefront as an unsung hero,
7777 driving forward the ambitions and aspirations of her
7878 community; now therefore,
7979 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8080 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Ms. Beulah Ballard Toney is
8181 hereby celebrated for her dedication to justice and equality
8282 and best wishes are extended for her continued success in
