1515 HR____ COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL
1616 BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM AND COACHES FOR WINNING THE 2025
1717 ALABAMA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION 4A STATE
1818 CHAMPIONSHIP.
1919 WHEREAS, we join the students, coaches, parents, and
2020 faculty at Jackson High School in celebrating the Boys
2121 Basketball Team's Alabama High School Athletic Association
2222 (AHSAA) Class 4A State Basketball Championship; and
2323 WHEREAS, on February 28, 2025, at the BJCC's Legacy
2424 Arena, the Jackson High School (JHS) Aggies, through
2525 teamwork, diligence, and an unwavering commitment to
2626 excellence, took down the Plainview High School Bears,
2727 44-42, and left Birmingham with the AHSAA coveted Blue Map
2828 Championship Trophy for the second year in a row; and
2929 WHEREAS, on a team filled with exceptional athletes,
3030 several players stood out for their game-changing play;
3131 tournament MVP Joseph Taylor scored 13 points and had four
3232 assists and three steals; joining him on the All-Tournament
3333 Team is Keeyun Chapman, who had 10 points, eight rebounds,
3434 and two blocked shots; and
3535 WHEREAS, other notable contributions were made by
3636 Roderick Hamilton, who scored nine points, and Isaiah
3737 Gladney, dubbed the "X Factor" for scoring in tough
3838 situations, who turned a pass from Joseph Taylor into the

6868 situations, who turned a pass from Joseph Taylor into the
6969 game-winning basket just before the buzzer sounded; and
7070 WHEREAS, the JHS Boys Basketball Team has been
7171 superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Anthony Hayes
7272 and assistant coaches Lakendrick Howard and Jimmy Martin,
7373 Jr.; under their leadership, the players have broadened
7474 their knowledge of the game, refined their skills in
7575 execution, and strengthened the school's tradition of
7676 superior play and true sportsmanship; and
7777 WHEREAS, special commendations and appreciation are
7878 also awarded to the team statistician, Trinnia
7979 McKenzie-Smith; and
8080 WHEREAS, the talented athletes on the Jackson High
8181 School Basketball Team are Keeyun Chapman, Isaiah Gladney,
8282 Daylon Reed, Roderick Hamilton, Jr., Dysen Adams, Joseph
8383 Taylor, Tobias Crayton, Keimari Bryant, Donnivan Bozeman,
8484 Mason Jackson, and Landon Duckworth; and
8585 WHEREAS, the Jackson High School Aggies' noteworthy
8686 success is a tremendous source of pride for their families,
8787 classmates, teachers, principal, and the entire community,
8888 whose dedication and support have played a crucial role in
8989 motivating the team; now therefore,
9090 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9191 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the Jackson High School Boys
9292 Basketball Team and coaches are highly honored and commended
9393 on earning the 2025 AHSAA Class 4A State Basketball
9494 Championship Title, and we hereby dedicate this resolution
9595 to them with utmost admiration, along with best wishes for
9696 continued success in all future endeavors.
