1515 HR____ COMMENDING STEPHANIE LOFTON STREETER FOR HER MANY
1616 PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT
1717 FROM THE MOBILE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES.
1818 WHEREAS, it is with profound admiration and respect
1919 that we recognize Mrs. Stephanie Lofton Streeter of Mobile,
2020 Alabama, for her numerous years of dedicated public service
2121 to Mobile County and the entire State of Alabama upon the
2222 occasion of her retirement on May 1, 2025, as County
2323 Director for the Mobile County Department of Human Resources
2424 (DHR); and
2525 WHEREAS, as the Mobile County Director of DHR, Mrs.
2626 Streeter has been responsible for approximately four office
2727 locations and 275 employees who provide a wealth of services
2828 and resources for children and families in the Mobile County
2929 community; and
3030 WHEREAS, Mrs. Streeter began her career with Mobile
3131 County DHR in 1999 as a Family Self Sufficiency Case Aide in
3232 the JOBS program, where she assisted welfare recipients in
3333 gaining the tools needed to become gainfully employed
3434 despite any obstacles; through hard work and a passion for
3535 helping families, she has served in many capacities within
3636 the agency, including as a caseworker, supervisor, Choctaw
3737 County DHR Director, Assistant Director in Jefferson County,
3838 Assistant Director in Mobile County, and eventually, Mobile

6868 Assistant Director in Mobile County, and eventually, Mobile
6969 County DHR Director; and
7070 WHEREAS, Mrs. Streeter's contributions to the
7171 community and the state extend far beyond DHR, as she has
7272 served in various roles on many boards and committees, such
7373 as Lifelines Counseling Services Board of Directors, Council
7474 Against Family Violence, The University of Alabama Social
7575 Work Society Board, Penelope House Administrative Board, the
7676 Southwest Alabama Partnership for Training and Employment
7777 (SWAPTE) Board, Bishop State Community College Foundation
7878 Board, and the Rotary Club of Mobile; and
7979 WHEREAS, Mrs. Streeter earned a Master of Social Work
8080 from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Bachelor of
8181 Science from the University of Mobile, and an Associate of
8282 Science from Bishop State Community College; she is also a
8383 proud graduate of McGill-Toolen High School; and
8484 WHEREAS, Mrs. Stephanie Streeter freely admits that
8585 none of these accomplishments would be possible without the
8686 support and constant encouragement of her husband, Tyrone
8787 Streeter, and their daughter, Kelsey Streeter; and
8888 WHEREAS, Mrs. Streeter is known throughout Mobile
8989 County for her generosity of time and sacrifice of self, her
9090 tireless work ethic, and her fierce love of the families she
9191 has served for over 25 years; she is loved and respected by
9292 her staff and the community; now therefore,
9393 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9494 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we highly commend Stephanie
9595 Lofton Streeter for 25 years and six months of exemplary
9696 dedication to the field of social services and the Mobile
