15	15	HR____ COMMENDING KARMEN LUTS ON ATTAINING THE RANK OF EAGLE
16	16	SCOUT.
17	17	WHEREAS, commendations and congratulations are herein
18	18	extended to Karmen Luts from Scout Troop 10G on attaining
19	19	the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouts BSA; and
20	20	WHEREAS, the Eagle Scout Award, earned by only a
21	21	small percentage of Scouts, involves the completion of an
22	22	Eagle Scout Project and represents many years of diligence
23	23	in pursuit of a worthy goal that brings honor to the Scout,
24	24	the troop, and the Scout's family; and
25	25	WHEREAS, Scout Karmen Luts has demonstrated
26	26	exceptional commitment to these principles through her
27	27	diligent efforts and determination, culminating in the
28	28	attainment of the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout; and
29	29	WHEREAS, Scout Karmen Luts' Eagle Scout Project
30	30	involved organizing a Catalyst STEM Camp for Girls, with
31	31	classes led by a Robotics Specialist, a Ceramic Engineer,
32	32	and members of the Society of Women Engineers at The
33	33	University of Alabama in Huntsville; she decided to put her
34	34	love for science to work and promote STEM to young girls in
35	35	the community through her Eagle Scout project after
36	36	discovering that only 28 percent of the STEM workforce is
37	37	comprised of women; and
38	38	WHEREAS, Scout Karmen Luts joined Scouts BSA in 2019

68	68	WHEREAS, Scout Karmen Luts joined Scouts BSA in 2019
69	69	and is recognized as a Founder of Troop 10G; she has earned
70	70	28 merit badges, including Citizenship in the Community,
71	71	Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in Society, and
72	72	Citizenship in the World; and she has earned the NOVA Award,
73	73	which is awarded to Scouts who achieve excellence in the
74	74	pursuit of STEM; and
75	75	WHEREAS, through the years, Scout Karmen Luts has
76	76	exhibited those hard-earned characteristics of
77	77	trustworthiness, self discipline, and good citizenship, all
78	78	components of the Scouts BSA program; with the guidance and
79	79	support of her Scout leaders, she has earned the esteem of
80	80	her community, fellow Scouts, and all Alabamians; now
81	81	therefore,
82	82	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
83	83	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we extend our sincere
84	84	congratulations to Scout Karmen Luts and express our deep
85	85	appreciation for her outstanding service to the community.
86	86	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
87	87	resolution be provided to Scout Karmen Luts as an expression
88	88	of our admiration for her accomplishments and our best
89	89	wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors.
