1515 HR____ COMMENDING KARMEN LUTS ON ATTAINING THE RANK OF EAGLE
1616 SCOUT.
1717 WHEREAS, commendations and congratulations are herein
1818 extended to Karmen Luts from Scout Troop 10G on attaining
1919 the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouts BSA; and
2020 WHEREAS, the Eagle Scout Award, earned by only a
2121 small percentage of Scouts, involves the completion of an
2222 Eagle Scout Project and represents many years of diligence
2323 in pursuit of a worthy goal that brings honor to the Scout,
2424 the troop, and the Scout's family; and
2525 WHEREAS, Scout Karmen Luts has demonstrated
2626 exceptional commitment to these principles through her
2727 diligent efforts and determination, culminating in the
2828 attainment of the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout; and
2929 WHEREAS, Scout Karmen Luts' Eagle Scout Project
3030 involved organizing a Catalyst STEM Camp for Girls, with
3131 classes led by a Robotics Specialist, a Ceramic Engineer,
3232 and members of the Society of Women Engineers at The
3333 University of Alabama in Huntsville; she decided to put her
3434 love for science to work and promote STEM to young girls in
3535 the community through her Eagle Scout project after
3636 discovering that only 28 percent of the STEM workforce is
3737 comprised of women; and
3838 WHEREAS, Scout Karmen Luts joined Scouts BSA in 2019

6868 WHEREAS, Scout Karmen Luts joined Scouts BSA in 2019
6969 and is recognized as a Founder of Troop 10G; she has earned
7070 28 merit badges, including Citizenship in the Community,
7171 Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in Society, and
7272 Citizenship in the World; and she has earned the NOVA Award,
7373 which is awarded to Scouts who achieve excellence in the
7474 pursuit of STEM; and
7575 WHEREAS, through the years, Scout Karmen Luts has
7676 exhibited those hard-earned characteristics of
7777 trustworthiness, self discipline, and good citizenship, all
7878 components of the Scouts BSA program; with the guidance and
7979 support of her Scout leaders, she has earned the esteem of
8080 her community, fellow Scouts, and all Alabamians; now
8181 therefore,
8282 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8383 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we extend our sincere
8484 congratulations to Scout Karmen Luts and express our deep
8585 appreciation for her outstanding service to the community.
8686 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
8787 resolution be provided to Scout Karmen Luts as an expression
8888 of our admiration for her accomplishments and our best
8989 wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors.
