HR___ CONGRATULATING THE CENTRAL PHENIX CITY FLAG FOOTBALL
TEAM.
WHEREAS, with great pride, it is important to
recognize outstanding accomplishments by our state's
students and athletes; and 
WHEREAS, the Central Phenix City Flag Football Team
has achieved remarkable success by winning the Alabama High
School Athletic Association (AHSAA) State Championship in
2024, a testament to their exceptional skill, hard work, and
dedication; and 
WHEREAS, this victory reflects the continued
excellence of the squad, which has consistently placed among
the top teams in recent years, including winning the AHSAA
State Championship in 2023; and
WHEREAS, this team has shown unrivaled dominance in
their sport; in addition to winning the state championship,
they were declared the 2024 MaxPreps and USA Today/NFL Flag
National Champions for their undefeated season with a record
of 19-0; their dominant season extended their win streak to
37 games while outscoring their opponents 833-49; and
WHEREAS, several key players and coaches stood out
during this season and earned special recognition; Gerritt
Griggs was named the state's first "AL.com Miss Flag
Football"; Gerritt Griggs, Natalyn Lumpkin, Mariah Harrison,

Football"; Gerritt Griggs, Natalyn Lumpkin, Mariah Harrison,
Ally Supan, and Colby Cook were added to AL.com's "Terrifc
20" list; and Head Coach Mitchell Holt was named AL.com's
"Coach of the Year"; in addition to these accolades, Gerritt
Griggs and Natalyn Lumpkin were selected to participate in
the NFL Pro Bowl Flag Football Showcase event; Head Coach
Mitchell Holt and Assistant Coach Troy Jackson were also
selected to help lead the team during the showcase event;
and
WHEREAS, the outstanding members of the 2024
championship squad include Shabreia Brannon, Dane Ferguson,
Janiyah Garrett, Addy Gessner, Summer Gilley, Gerritt
Griggs, Natalyn Lumpkin, Kate Powell, Ari Shorter, Allyson
Supan, Lilly Bell, Colby Cook, Mariah Harrison, Majesty
James, Kamouri Johnson, Kalea Lovejoy, Ashlyn Nixon, Danajia
Thomas, Khloe Broadwater, Amya Brooks, Abby Loreman, Madilyn
Boyer, Bria Coleman, Savannah Sevier, Deeana Amos, Kinsey
Carlisle, Mckinley Hall, Allie Hedges, Liz Bell, Miley
Gallman, and Kinley Rasmus; they have been expertly coached
and inspired by Head Coach Mitchell Holt, Assistant Coach
Troy Jackson, Miranda Griggs, Tammy Taylor, Brent Bell, and
Bailey Kiker; and
WHEREAS, the achievements of this team bring great
pride to their community, the City of Phenix City, and the
entire State of Alabama; now therefore, 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the Central Phenix City Flag
Football Team is hereby commended and congratulated on their
outstanding victory in the 2024 AHSAA State Championship.
