HR____ CELEBRATING JACK COLLIER ON THE OCCASION OF HIS 104TH
BIRTHDAY.
WHEREAS, highest commendations are herein proudly
presented to Mr. Jack Collier of Birmingham, Alabama, on the
occasion of his 104th Birthday; and
WHEREAS, Jack Collier, a proud native of Republic,
Alabama, was a distinguished fighter pilot who attained the
rank of First Lieutenant in the United States Army Air
Corps; he valiantly served his country during World War II,
demonstrating unwavering bravery and an unyielding
commitment to duty; and
WHEREAS,after the war, Mr. Collier returned to
Collier Center, Alabama, where he established the Collier
Center Filling Station in Forestdale, serving as a trusted
auto and diesel mechanic; a dedicated community leader, he
was also a founding member of the Hillview Volunteer Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, through 67 years of a blissful marriage to
his beloved wife, Hazel, and the joy of raising their three
children, Paula, Donna, and John, Mr. Collier remained a man
of unwavering energy and purpose; never one to sit idle, he
had a natural talent for tinkering and repairing anything
that needed fixing; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Collier takes great pride in keeping his

WHEREAS, Mr. Collier takes great pride in keeping his
yard in Forestdale, Alabama, in immaculate condition; after
lunch, he often enjoys taking a leisurely drive perhaps to
visit one of his beloved daughters or to stop by his church,
where he serves faithfully as a senior deacon; on some days,
he might simply savor a Snickers bar, his favorite candy, a
small but sweet indulgence that brings him joy; and
WHEREAS, a devoted steward of the Lord, Mr. Collier
remains committed to bringing glory to God for as long as
his health allows; he lives by the words of his favorite
hymn, "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus," embodying faith,
devotion, and spiritual strength; and
WHEREAS, a 104th Birthday Celebration is a
significant milestone that represents a century of memories
gained and wisdom earned and is cause for great rejoicing ;
now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Mr. Jack Collier is honored and
congratulated on the occasion of celebrating his 104th
Birthday, and this resolution is offered in tribute to his
remarkable life with warmest personal regard.
