HR____ COMMENDING MR. DOUG JONES FOR HIS TIME AND EFFORT IN
RETURNING PROPERTY TO RESPRESENTATIVE MARK GIDLEY.
WHEREAS, it with great pride and pleasure that we
convey highest commendations to Mr. Doug Jones for going
above and beyond to return a lost Bible to Representative
Mark Gidley; and
WHEREAS, at the beginning of the legislative session,
David Hoke and the Christian Coalition of Alabama gifted
each legislator with a gorgeous Bible; and
WHEREAS, Representative Gidley placed the Bible on
the roof of his car; forgetting to remove it, the Bible fell
off the car on Atlanta Highway, one of the busiest
thoroughfares in the City of Montgomery; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Jones saw the Bible and rescued it; he
then went above and beyond in both time and effort to locate
the Bible's owner; and
WHEREAS, David Hoke and the Alabama Christian
Coalition were so impressed by Mr. Jones' persistence in
locating Representative Gidley that they gifted a personal
Bible to him in appreciation, which Representative Gidley
presented to him at his home; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That for his pursuit in returning
the valued Bible, and for his love of the Word of God, Mr.

the valued Bible, and for his love of the Word of God, Mr.
Doug Jones is highly commended and this resolution is
offered to him as evidence of our sincere appreciation for
the time and effort it took to locate Representative Gidley
and return the Bible to him and with best wishes for many
blessings and prosperity in all future endeavors.
