15	15	HR____ MOURNING THE DEATH AND CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF TAMELA
16	16	SELMAR-BURKS.
17	17	WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
18	18	death of Tamela Selmar-Burks of Montgomery, Alabama, on
19	19	February 12, 2025, at the age of 53; and
20	20	WHEREAS, her departure leaves a void in the lives of
21	21	her loving family, many friends, and the community where she
22	22	was highly regarded; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Tamela received her education from
24	24	Montgomery Public Schools and graduated from Sidney Lanier
25	25	High School, Class of 1989; she earned an associate degree
26	26	from Trenholm State Community College and a Bachelor of Arts
27	27	in Human Resource Management from Troy University; she
28	28	worked in the human resources field for more than 20 years,
29	29	including Buffalo Rock Company, Alorica, and Three Folds
30	30	Care, Incorporated; and
31	31	WHEREAS, known to be of generous heart and spirit,
32	32	Tamela was a member of the Junior League of Montgomery,
33	33	where she served on many committees, and a charter member
34	34	and board member of the Southeast Regional Chapter of the
35	35	Gospel Music Workshop of America, affectionately known as
36	36	"The Fellowship"; she faithfully attended worship services
37	37	at First Baptist Church of Greater Washington Park, where
38	38	she sang in the Mass Choir, the Women's Choir, and the

68	68	she sang in the Mass Choir, the Women's Choir, and the
69	69	Praise Team; and
70	70	WHEREAS, Tamela was preceded in death by her mother,
71	71	Callie L. Selmar; grandmother, Donnie Jones; and brother,
72	72	Jerome Selmar; she will be lovingly remembered by her
73	73	father, Bennie Wright; twin sister, Pamela L. Selmar;
74	74	children, Kimberly Selmar, Kaleb Selmar, and Kameron Selmar;
75	75	grandchildren, Kimaria Selmar and Kemari Selmar; and a host
76	76	of extended family and many friends; and
77	77	WHEREAS, Tamela was the life of the party and was
78	78	always ready to laugh and dance; although her joyful
79	79	presence will be greatly missed, the memory of Tamela
80	80	Selmar-Burks will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew
81	81	and loved her; now therefore,
82	82	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
83	83	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Tamela
84	84	Selmar-Burks is recorded with deep sadness, and this
85	85	resolution is offered to her family in tribute to her life
86	86	and with heartfelt sympathy to her loved ones whose grief is
87	87	shared by many.
