15	15	HR____ MOURNING THE DEATH AND CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF
16	16	BEVERLY CUNNINGHAM LESTER.
17	17	WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
18	18	death of Beverly Cunningham Lester on February 18, 2025, at
19	19	the age of 84; and
20	20	WHEREAS, her departure leaves a void in the lives of
21	21	her loving family, many friends, and the community where she
22	22	was highly regarded; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Beverly was born in Anderson, South
24	24	Carolina, on January 31, 1941, to Harold Blain and Maggie
25	25	Mae Oliver, who raised their daughter with the values of
26	26	hard work, faith, and compassion; and
27	27	WHEREAS, after graduating from West Side High School,
28	28	Class of 1959, Beverly matriculated to Voorhees University,
29	29	where she pursued her passion for nursing and attained her
30	30	LPN license upon graduating the nursing program; and
31	31	WHEREAS, Beverly dedicated her career to caring for
32	32	others, serving in various hospitals, including Mary Black
33	33	Hospital, Spartanburg Regional Hospital, Anderson Memorial
34	34	Hospital, and Allen Bennett Hospital; she retired from
35	35	nursing while in service to Camp Haven Nursing Home, Valley
36	36	Falls Nursing Home, and Mountain View Nursing Home, where
37	37	she brought comfort and joy to countless patients during
38	38	their twilight years; and

69	69	WHEREAS, Beverly served in many ways in her
70	70	community; she was a dedicated volunteer at Spartanburg Soup
71	71	Kitchen, where she found joy in feeding and uplifting the
72	72	homeless; as a faithful member of The House of David, she
73	73	served as the head of the Hospitality Ministry and the
74	74	Medical Ministry, ensuring that all were cared for both
75	75	physically and spiritually; and
76	76	WHEREAS, beyond her dedication to others, Beverly
77	77	embraced life with passion and joy; she enjoyed traveling,
78	78	reading, decorating, her ministry work, and spending
79	79	cherished moments with friends and family; she enjoyed
80	80	watching cowboy and western movies, collecting horse
81	81	figurines, and the companionship of her pets, Max and
82	82	Keebler; she was a devoted mother, grandmother,
83	83	great-grandmother, nurse, and servant of God; and
84	84	WHEREAS, Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved
85	85	husband, Dr. Clarence Martin Lester, Sr.; son, Matthew
86	86	Lester; and grandson, Jaleen Martin Lester; she will be
87	87	lovingly remembered by her children, Clarissa Lester Kenty
88	88	(Ernest), Clarence Martin Lester, Jr. (Monica), and Michael
89	89	Angelo Lester; eight grandchildren; four
90	90	great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended
91	91	family, and close friends; and
92	92	WHEREAS, Beverly was a woman of grace, wisdom, and
93	93	kindness; although her joyful presence will be greatly
94	94	missed, the memory of Beverly Lester will be cherished in
95	95	the hearts of all who knew and loved her; now therefore,

124	124	the hearts of all who knew and loved her; now therefore,
125	125	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
126	126	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Beverly Cunningham
127	127	Lester is recorded with deep sadness, and this resolution is
128	128	offered to her family in tribute to her life and with
129	129	heartfelt sympathy to her loved ones whose grief is shared
130	130	by many.
