Senate Bill 114 as passed the Senate would appropriate $1,249,991,080 from the Education
Trust Fund (ETF) Advancement and Technology Fund for fiscal year 2025 as follows:
1.$342,125,000 to public institutions of higher education; and
2.$807,866,080 to the Department of Education to be allocated to the local boards of
education, the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, the Board of
Youth Services School Districts, the Board of Directors of the Alabama School of Fine Arts,
the Board of Trustees of the Alabama School of Math and Science, the Board of Trustees of
the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering; and the Board of Trustees of the
Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences.
ď‚·This bill would further provide that the funds allocated to the local school systems shall
not be expended without prior approval of the State Superintendent of Education.
3.$100,000,000 to the Department of Education to fund a grant program for local boards of
education to develop regional career technology centers.
Additionally, this bill would reappropriate $35,057,322 of unexpended and reverted funds from
fiscal year 2024 to certain local boards of education.
In addition, this bill would provide that all funds not expended in the current fiscal year shall not
revert but shall be carried forward for the purposes appropriated.
