15-Enrolled, An Act,
16-Relating to crimes and offenses; to amend Section
17-13A-10-11, Code of Alabama 1975, to include additional
18-activity that would constitute the crime of impersonating a
19-peace officer.
20-BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
21-Section 1. Section 13A-10-11, Code of Alabama 1975, is
22-amended to read as follows:
23-"§13A-10-11
24-(a) A person commits the crime of impersonating a peace
25-officer if he or she does any of the following:
26-(1) falsely Falsely pretends to be a peace officer and
27-does any act in that capacity.
28-(2) Is employed as or otherwise accepts an appointment
29-as a peace officer either:
30-a. Knowing that he or she is not eligible to serve as a
31-peace officer under the laws of this state; or
32-b. Knowing that his or her certification with the
33-Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission has
34-been revoked or suspended.
35-(3) Employs, appoints, or otherwise facilitates a
36-person serving as a peace officer when he or she knows the
37-person is prohibited from serving as a peace officer under
38-subdivision (2).
39-(b) Impersonating a peace officer is a Class C felony.
40-(c) For the purposes of this section, "peace officer"

16+Under existing law, a person commits the crime
