SYNOPSIS
Existing law requires businesses that sell
alcoholic beverages to train their employees under the
Alcoholic Beverage Control Board's Responsible Vendor
Program. The law further provides that the course of
instruction and test may be given online.
This bill would further implement the law by
directing the board to adopt rules that recognize and
enable vendors to conduct the program online. This
bill provides that an employee who scores 70 percent
or higher on the test has successfully completed the
course.
This bill further provides that if the board
fails to adopt the rules within four months of the
bill's enactment, the board will lose its
authorization to operate retail liquor stores.
This bill would also delete duplicative
language and make nonsubstantive, technical revisions
to update the existing code language to current style.
