SYNOPSIS:
Under existing law, the filling and distributing
of liquefied petroleum gas is regulated by the Alabama
Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board. 
This bill would prohibit permitees of the board
from filling or storing LP-Gas cylinders for retail
sale within a certain distance of public gathering
places.
A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to the Alabama Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board;
to add Section 9-17-111 to the Code of Alabama 1975, to
prohibit permitees from filling or storing LP-Gas cylinders
within a certain distance of public gathering places. 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. Section 9-17-111 is added to the Code of
Alabama 1975, to read as follows: 
ยง9-17-111 
 No permittee may fill a liquefied petroleum gas
cylinder for retail sale or store a filled liquefied petroleum
gas cylinder for distribution for retail sale within 3,000

gas cylinder for distribution for retail sale within 3,000
feet of the boundary line of adjoining real property upon
which a school, church, hospital, athletic field, or other
place of public gathering is located.  
Section 2. This act shall become effective on October
1, 2025.
