| 18 | 18 | Relating to Lee County; to authorize the Lee County | |
| 19 | 19 | Revenue Commissioner to perform the duties required for the | |
| 20 | 20 | redemption of land for taxes in the county; and to authorize | |
| 21 | 21 | the revenue commissioner to charge an administrative fee. | |
| 22 | 22 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: | |
| 23 | 23 | Section 1. (a) The procedure for the redemption of land | |
| 24 | 24 | for taxes pursuant to Sections 40-10-121, 40-10-122, 40-10-125 | |
| 25 | 25 | through 40-10-130, and 40-10-133, Code of Alabama 1975, in Lee | |
| 26 | 26 | County shall be the same, except that all such duties as are | |
| 27 | 27 | required of and are performed by the Judge of Probate of Lee | |
| 28 | 28 | County shall be transferred to and be performed by the Lee | |
| 29 | 29 | County Revenue Commissioner, and the judge of probate shall be | |
| 30 | 30 | relieved of all such duties. | |
| 31 | 31 | (b) In addition to any other fee authorized by law, the | |
| 32 | 32 | revenue commissioner may charge an administrative fee to | |
| 33 | 33 | process a redemption under this section in an amount not to | |
| 34 | 34 | exceed fifty dollars ($50). All fees collected by the revenue | |
| 35 | 35 | commissioner under this section shall be paid into the general | |
| 36 | 36 | fund of the county. | |
| 37 | 37 | Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately. | |
