| 18 | 18 | | Relating to Jefferson County; to further provide for |

| 21 | 21 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |

| 22 | 22 | | Section 1. Section 45-37A-50.07 of the Code of Alabama |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 1975, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | "ยง45-37A-50.07 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | compensation of the members of the Birmingham City Board of |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Education shall be as follows: |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (1) Beginning on May 9, 2001 with the next term of |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | office following the effective date of this act , and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | thereafter, each member of the Birmingham City Board of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Education shall be entitled to receive compensation in the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | amount of three nine hundred dollars ($300) ($900) per month. |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (2) Beginning on May 9, 2001, and thereafter, each |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | member of the Birmingham City Board of Education shall be |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | entitled to receive an expense allowance in the amount of four |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | hundred dollars ($400) per month. |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | (b) The compensation and expense allowance provided by |
|---|
