| 21 | 21 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |

| 22 | 22 | | Section 1. Section 45-51-84, Code of Alabama 1975, is |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | amended to read as follows: |

| 24 | 24 | | "ยง45-51-84 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (a) The per annum compensation shall be eighty-eight |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | thousand dollars ($88,000) for the judge of probate effective |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | October 1, 1996. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (b) The compensation amount in subsection (a) shall be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | paid out of the general fund of the Montgomery County |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Commission in the same manner as other county employees are |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | paid. |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (c) Subsequent to October 1, 1996, the compensation |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | amount in subsection (a) shall be increased by the same |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | percentage as the across-the-board percentage increase |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | received by full-time county employees at the same time as the |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | increase is received by the county employees, except that the |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | amount shall not be increased by more than three thousand |

| 75 | 75 | | Montgomery County Judge of Probate. " |
