26	25		SJR___ RECOGNIZING APRIL 8, 2025, AS SCOUTING AMERICA DAY.
27	26		WHEREAS, with great pride and special pleasure, this
28	27		body commends the Scouting America councils that serve
29	28		Alabama for their leadership and dedication to preparing
30	29		young people for adulthood and responsible citizenship:
31	30		Alabama-Florida Council, Black Warrior Council,
32	31		Chattahoochee Council, Greater Alabama Council, Mobile Area
33	32		Council, and Tukabatchee Council; and
34	33		WHEREAS, membership in Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA,
35	34		Venturing, and Career Exploring is growing across Alabama,
36	35		now representative of 15,803 Scouts; and
37	36		WHEREAS, in 2024, 352 young men and women achieved
38	37		the rank of Eagle Scout from all of the Alabama-based Scouts
39	38		BSA Troops; these youth represent Scouting's best and will
40	39		be well-equipped to serve and provide leadership to our
41	40		state and the Nation; the Eagle Scout Leadership Project and
42	41		service hours provided by Troops and individual Scouts
43	42		represent thousands of hours each year, benefiting their
44	43		hometown, local churches, hunger relief missions, and other
45	44		nonprofit organizations; now therefore,
46	45		BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
47	46		HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That April 8, 2025, is recognized
48	47		as Scouting America Day in Alabama and this resolution is
49	48		offered to the six councils that serve the State of Alabama
