16	15		SJR___ ACKNOWLEDGING THE ALABAMA GROCERS ASSOCIATION ON ITS
17	16		35TH ANNIVERSARY.
18	17		WHEREAS, it is appropriate to acknowledge the Alabama
19	18		Grocers Association on the occasion of its 35th Anniversary;
20	19		and
21	20		WHEREAS, the Alabama Grocers Association is a
22	21		professional trade association comprising retail grocers,
23	22		wholesalers, manufacturers, brokers, and others who supply
24	23		goods and services to the food distributing industry; and
25	24		WHEREAS, the Alabama Grocers Association was
26	25		established 35 years ago and currently has more than 350
27	26		members and over 850 retail outlets; and
28	27		WHEREAS, the mission of the Alabama Grocers
29	28		Association is to promote the growth and success of the food
30	29		industry in Alabama through advocacy, education, public
31	30		relations, and networking; and
32	31		WHEREAS, the Alabama Grocers Association serves as an
33	32		advocate, resource, and community for Alabama's grocery
34	33		industry, connecting members and supporting their success;
35	34		and
36	35		WHEREAS, the food retail industry in Alabama provides
37	36		over 188,000 jobs with over $6.8 billion in annual wages;
38	37		the industry contributes over $1.5 billion in state taxes
39	38		and has a total economic impact on the state's economy of

75	74		BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
76	75		HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That in recognition of Alabama
77	76		Grocers Association Day, we acknowledge the Alabama Grocers
78	77		Association and extend our congratulations on its 35th
