2525 SR____ COMMEMORATING THE 79TH SOUTHERN LEGISLATIVE
2626 CONFERENCE OF THE COUNCIL OF STATE GOVERNMENTS SOUTHERN

2828 WHEREAS, The Council of State Governments Southern
2929 Office (CSG South) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit member
3030 organization that serves the Southern Legislatures of
3131 Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana,
3232 Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South
3333 Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia; and
3434 WHEREAS, with regionally based leadership,
3535 perspective, and national level resources, CSG South
3636 provides Southern legislators and government staff with a
3737 wide variety of programs and services that facilitate
3838 regional cooperation and encourage the exchange of
3939 information; and
4040 WHEREAS, the mission of the organization is to serve
4141 as a community of the states, committed to connecting,
4242 informing, inspiring, and empowering public servants in all
4343 three branches of state government to put the best ideas and
4444 solutions into practice; and
4545 WHEREAS, in pursuit of this mission, CSG South has
4646 convened the Southern Legislative Conference for the past 78
4747 years with decades of fellowship and cooperation between the
4848 Southern states; the 79th Southern Legislative Conference

7878 Southern states; the 79th Southern Legislative Conference
7979 will convene in Birmingham, Alabama, from July 19 to 23,

8181 WHEREAS, more than 1,500 Southern legislators,
8282 government staff, and their families will gather to discuss
8383 policy matters specifically affecting Southern states to
8484 bridge commonalities and discuss solutions for current
8585 policy trends, challenges, and opportunities; now therefore,
8686 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE LEGISLATURE OF
8787 ALABAMA, That The Council of State Governments Southern
8888 Office is highly commended for holding the annual Southern
8989 Legislative Conference, and we welcome all attending
9090 Southern legislative, executive, and judicial officials to
9191 our great State of Alabama for the 2025 conference.
