26	26	WHEREAS, on February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched an 23
27	27	unprovoked invasion of the sovereign nation of Ukraine; and 24

29	29	WHEREAS, the United States has the ability to take economic actions 26
30	30	against the Russian Federation and its leaders who are responsible for this 27
31	31	unjust invasion of the sove reign nation of Ukraine; and 28

33	33	WHEREAS, the United States can expel Russian oligarchs, freeze assets 30
34	34	of Russian oligarchs and political leaders who supported the invasion of the 31
35	35	sovereign nation of Ukraine, and take other similar actions to deter further 32
36	36	unprovoked aggression from the Russian Federation against its neighbors and 33
37	37	to penalize the Russian Federation for its unjust invasion of the sovereign 34
38	38	nation of Ukraine; and 35

44	44	WHEREAS, if the United States fails to adequately respond to the 1
45	45	actions of the Russian Federation, other countries may be emboldened to take 2
46	46	similar actions, such as the People's Republic of China taking similar 3
47	47	actions against the democratic nation of Taiwan, 4

49	49	NOW THEREFORE, 6
50	50	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NIN ETY-THIRD GENERAL 7
51	51	ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 8

53	53	THAT the House of Representatives: 10
54	54	(a) Support the people of the sovereign nation of Ukraine and condemn 11
55	55	the actions of the Russian Federation taken against the sovereign nation of 12
56	56	Ukraine; 13
57	57	(b) Call for the United States to expel Russian oligarchs, freeze 14
58	58	assets of Russian oligarchs and political leaders who supported the invasion 15
59	59	of the sovereign nation of Ukraine, and take all other similar actions that 16
60	60	would deter the Russian Federation from furt her unprovoked aggression towards 17
61	61	its neighbors and to penalize the Russian Federation for its unjust invasion 18
62	62	of the sovereign nation of Ukraine; 19
63	63	(c) Call for the United States to place sanctions on Russian oil and 20
64	64	other natural resources; 21
65	65	(d) Call for the United States to take steps to increase the amount of 22
66	66	non-Russian oil available to the United States and other countries, including 23
67	67	increasing the production of domestic oil and reauthorizing the Keystone 24
68	68	Pipeline; and 25
69	69	(e) Support the people of Tai wan and free people everywhere and call 26
70	70	on the United States to adequately respond to the Russian Federation’s 27
71	71	actions so as to deter others from unprovoked aggression towards their 28
72	72	neighbors. 29

74	74	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon its adoption, a copy of this resolution be 31
75	75	presented to President Joseph Biden; United States Senate Majority Leader 32
76	76	Chuck Schumer; United States Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell; Speaker 33
