Fite 5 6 HOUSE RESOLUTION 7 TO RECOGNIZE THE BEN TON HIGH SCHOOL PANTHER GIRLS 8 VOLLEYBALL TEAM, THE BENTON HIGH SCHOOL P ANTHER BOYS 9 GOLF TEAM, THE BENTO N HIGH SCHOOL PANTHE R 10 CHEERLEADING TEAM, A ND BENTON HIGH SCHOO L PANTHER 11 WRESTLER HAVEN OWENS . 12 13 14 Subtitle 15 TO RECOGNIZE THE BENTON HIGH SCHOOL 16 PANTHER GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM, THE BENTON 17 HIGH SCHOOL PANTHER BOYS GOLF TEAM, THE 18 BENTON HIGH SCHOOL PANTHER CHEERLEADING 19 TEAM, AND BENTON HIGH SCHOOL PANTHER 20 WRESTLER HAVEN OWENS. 21 22 WHEREAS, on October 29, 2022, the Benton High School Panther Girls 23 Volleyball Team won the 2022 Class 5A State Volleyball Championship in Hot 24 Springs, Arkansas; and 25 26 WHEREAS, the Benton High School Panther Girls Volleyball Team were the 27 2022 5A Conference Champions, had a conference record of 14 -0, and won the 28 Little Rock Christian Invitationa l and the Fort Smith Invitational; and 29 30 WHEREAS, Abigail Lagemann was named the Most Valuable Player of the 31 Volleyball State Championship and named to the All -State Team and Henley 32 Hooks, Kenzie Garrett, and Khenedi Guest were named to the All -State Team; 33 and 34 35 WHEREAS, the Benton High School Panther Girls Volleyball Team is 36 HR1073 2 3/29/2023 11:50:44 AM MAG141 coached by Head Coach Michelle Shoppach and the assistant coaches are Heidi 1 Cox, Brooke White, and Suzanne Reggins; and 2 3 WHEREAS, Head Coach Shoppach stated “This team had a swagger a bout 4 them, they did not get flustered. They were able to handle adversity and 5 rally together to slay their opponents. The chaos we created in practice made 6 it easy to handle game situations. Their motto was FTP, Feed -the-Panther.”; 7 and 8 9 WHEREAS, the Benton High School Panther Girls Volleyball Team includes 10 Gracie Aldebot, Emmaline Armstrong, Karlee Backus, Elle Bolding, Addie Burns, 11 Aubrey Chrestman, Delaney Cooper, Hannah Edington, Ellie Ferguson, Kam Flynn, 12 Kenzie Garrett, Khenedi Guest, Anna Grace Hardy , Evie Hendrix, Henley Hooks, 13 Drew Hudspeth, Abigail Lagemann, Olivia Little, Lexi Mahan, Presley Pallette, 14 Addy-Mae Seagraves, Parker Sollars, and Parker Stearns; and 15 16 WHEREAS, on October 4, 2022, the Benton High School Panther Boys Golf 17 Team won the Class 5A Boys State Golf Championship in Benton, Arkansas; and 18 19 WHEREAS, the Benton High School Panther Boys Golf Team won the state 20 championship with a score of two hundred ninety -eight (298) points and won 21 the conference championship with a score of three hundred one (301); and 22 23 WHEREAS, Paxton Lane was a winner of the overall championship and was 24 named to the All-State and All-Conference Teams; and 25 26 WHEREAS, Eli Cowden, Elias Payne, and Mason McDaniel, were named to the 27 All-Conference Team and Elias Payn e, Maddox Davis, and Mason McDaniel, were 28 named to the All-State Team; and 29 30 WHEREAS, the Head Coach for the Benton High School Panthers Boys Golf 31 Team is Mark Balisterri; and 32 33 WHEREAS, the Benton High School Panther Boys Golf Team includes Eli 34 Cowden, Whit Warford, Dominic Miceli, Mason McDaniel, Maddox Davis, Elias 35 Payne, Gavyn Benson, J. Thomas Pepper, Paxton Lane, Joe Duke, Grant Warford, 36 HR1073 3 3/29/2023 11:50:44 AM MAG141 and Cameron Barton; and 1 2 WHEREAS, the Benton High School Panthers Cheerleading Team won the 2022 3 Class 5A State Cheerleading Championship; and 4 5 WHEREAS, with this win, the Benton High School Panthers Cheerleading 6 Team repeated as Class 5A State Cheerleading Champions and placed second in 7 the 2022 State Cheerleading Championships; and 8 9 WHEREAS, the Benton High Scho ol Panthers Cheerleading Team placed 6th 10 out of twenty-nine (29) teams in the Medium Division II at the Universal 11 Cheerleading Association National High School Cheerleading Championship; and 12 13 WHEREAS, the members of the Benton High School Panthers Cheerleading 14 Team are not only outstanding athletes, but also gave back to their community 15 and the team has a combined total of over two hundred (200) hours of 16 community service; and 17 18 WHEREAS, the Benton High School Panthers Cheerleading Team is coached 19 by Head Coach Jaime Bunting and the assistant coach is Colton Watson; and 20 21 WHEREAS, the Benton High School Panthers Cheerleading Team includes 22 Addie Harding, Anna Grace Hardy, Abby Harrison, Cadence Clement, Kade 23 Robbins, Lily Tindall, Maggie Armstrong, M aggie Bacon, Taylor Doggett, Zoey 24 Hawkins, Lizzie Bacon, Macy White, Addison Golden, Claire Cornwell, Lily 25 Cavaneau, Preslee Hambric, Sailor Holland, Will Tudor, Allie Stoll, Macy 26 Sparks, Amy Anthony, Brooklynn Bailey, Callia Givens, Emily Richardson, Fait h 27 Dougherty, Hannah Still, and Madyson Bright; and 28 29 WHEREAS, on February 25, 2023, Haven Owens with the Benton High School 30 Panther Wrestling Team won the one hundred thirty -eight (138) pound weight 31 class individual wrestling championship at the Jack Steph ens Center at the 32 University of Arkansas at Little Rock; and 33 34 WHEREAS, Haven Owens was coached by Sam Cowling, Jake Brabham, and 35 Russell Owens, 36 HR1073 4 3/29/2023 11:50:44 AM MAG141 1 NOW THEREFORE, 2 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FOURTH GENERAL 3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 4 5 THAT the House of Representatives recognize the Benton High School 6 Panther Girls Volleyball Team, the Benton High School Panther Boys Golf Team, 7 the Benton High School Panther Cheerleading Team, and Benton High School 8 Wrestler Haven Owens for winning their respective Class 5A State 9 Championships. 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36
