WHEREAS, on March 10, 2023, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats 19
Basketball Team won the 2023 6A Girls Basketball State Championship at Bank 20
OZK Arena in Hot Springs, Arkansas; and 21

WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team 23
defeated North Little Rock High School with a score of sixty -two (62) to 24
fifty-three (53); and 25
26
WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team 27
finished the season ranked seventeenth (17th) in the country by ESPN and 28
first in the State of Arkansas; and 29

WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team 31
represented the State of Arkansas on national television with a game against 32
Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. that was aired on ESPN; and 33

WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team 35
individual honors were led by Chloe Clardy who was named the Most Valuable 36 SR40

Player for the Class 6A Girls Basketball Championship, was named to the All -1
State Team and the All -State Tournament Team, was named the Arkan sas Gatorade 2
Player of the Year, and will be playing basketball at Stanford University in 3
the fall; and 4

WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team 6
players also received the following honors: Savannah Scott was named to the 7
All-State Team, the All-State Tournament Team, and will be playing at Auburn 8
University in the fall; Alexis Cox was named to the All -State Team and the 9
All-State Tournament Team; Kamille Brown was named to the All -Conference 10
Team; Kaidyn Beckwith was named to the A ll-Conference Team; Samyah Jordan was 11
named to the All-Conference Team; and Emerie Bohanon was named to the All -12
Conference Team; and 13

WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team is 15
coached by Head Coach Ashley Hutchcraft and Assistant Coaches are LaShanta 16
Johnson, Steven Lamb, and Calli De Los Santos; and 17

WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team 19
includes Kaidyn Beckwith, Lyndsey McDonald, Samyah Jordan, Dekeria Carter, 20
Nicole Rodriguez, Emerie Bohanon, Chloe C lardy, Kamille Brown, Alivia Cox, 21
Jelani Davis, Alexis Cox, Anasia Tolliver, Amyia Taylor, Kaydence Turner, 22
Savannah Scott, Braylee McDonald, and Molly Hirschy; and 23

WHEREAS, Coach Hutchcraft stated “We are extremely proud of our team 25
and the accomplishments we were able to achieve this season. We were honored 26
to represent the state of Arkansas and the city of Conway on a national 27
level. Finishing our season as state champions proved that all our hard -work 28
and dedication paid off", 29

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY -FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 32
STATE OF ARKANSAS: 33

THAT the Senate recognize the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats 35
Basketball Team for winning the 2023 Class 6A Girls Basketball State 36 SR40

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution shall be 3
provided to Head Coach Hutchcraft by the Secretary of the Senate. 4
