2220 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 18

2422 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code § 17 -27-308 is amended to read as follows: 20
2523 17-27-308. Reciprocity — Licensure by Endorsement . 21
2624 (a) At its discretion, the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling 22
2725 may waive formal examination requirements of a candidate who is licensed or 23
2826 certified to practice counseling or marriage and family therapy by a similar 24
2927 board in another state if, in the opinion of the Arkansas Board of Examiners 25
3028 in Counseling, the standards and qualifications required for the practice of 26
3129 counseling in the candidate's licensing state are at least equal to those 27
3230 required by this chapter. 28
33- (b) The board shall issue a licensure by endorsement for a licensed 29
34-marriage and family therapist if the applicant: 30
35- (1) Submits documentation that his or her license issued in 31
36-another state, territory, or district of the United States is currently in 32
37-good standing; 33
38- (2) Does not have a disqualifying criminal offense under § 17 -3-34
39-102 or any additional state law relating to marriage and family therapy; and 35

32+family therapist or a licensed associate marriage and family therapist if the 30
