2321 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 19

2523 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code ยง 23-79-2703(a), concerning coverage for an 21
2624 ambulance service under the Arkansas Triage, Treat, and Transport to 22
2725 Alternative Destination Act, is amended to read as follows: 23
2826 (a) On and after January 1, 2024, a A healthcare insurer that offers, 24
2927 issues, or renews a health benefit plan in this state shall provide coverage 25
3028 for an ambulance service to : 26
3129 (1) An ambulance service to: 27
3230 (A) Treat an enrollee in place if the ambulance service is 28
3331 coordinating the care of the enrollee through telemedicine with a physician 29
3432 for a medical-based complaint or with a behavioral health specialist for a 30
3533 behavioral-based complaint; or 31
3634 (B)(2) Triage or triage and transport an enrollee to an 32
3735 alternative destination if the ambulance service is coordinating the care of 33
3836 the enrollee through telemedicine with a physician for a medical -based 34
3937 complaint or with a behavioral health specialist for a behavioral -based 35
