2826 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 24

3028 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code § 12-61-111, concerning ordering the 26
3129 organized militia into service, is amended to add an additional subsection to 27
3230 read as follows: 28
33- (c) With the approval of the Governor, the Adjutant General shall have 29
34-power to order into the active service of the state for such a period, to 30
35-such extent, and in such manner as he or she may deem necessary part of the 31
36-Arkansas National Guard for: 32
37- (1) Matters related to the execution of military justice within 33
38-§§ 12-64-403 — 12-64-405, § 12-64-407, §§ 12-64-409 — 12-64-412, § 12-64-414, 34
39-§ 12-64-504, § 12-64-510, § 12-64-517, § 12-64-606, § 12-64-707, § 12-64-709, 35

45-counsel, a paralegal, a military judge, a preliminary hearing officer, a 1
46-deposition officer, a marshal, a bailiff, a court reporter, or a panel member 2

49- (2) Voluntary support in a state active -duty status of the 5
50-Arkansas National Guard to address critical staffing shortages related to 6

31+ (c) With the approval of the Governor, the Adjutant General or the 29
32+commanding general of the militia shall have power to order into the active 30
33+service of the state for such a period, to such extent, and in such manner as 31
34+he or she may deem necessary, all or any part of the organized militia for: 32
35+ (1) Any matter related to the execution of military justice, 33
36+including without limitation confinement; or 34
37+ (2) Voluntary support of the Arkansas National Guard or the 35
38+Department of the Military to address critical staffing shortages. 36
