| 23 | 22 | | (a) Effective January 1, 2027, the offices of treasurer and tax 20 |
|---|
| 24 | 23 | | collector in Arkansas County, Arkansas, shall be one (1) office. 21 |

| 25 | 24 | | (b) At the 2026 general election, the electors of Arkansas County 22 |
|---|
| 26 | 25 | | shall elect one (1) individual to serve as both the treasurer and the tax 23 |
|---|
| 27 | 26 | | collector, and the officer so elected shall take office on January 1, 2027. 24 |

| 28 | 27 | | (c) The treasurer and the tax collector in Arkansas County shall give 25 |
|---|
| 29 | 28 | | bond for the faithful performance of his or her duties as provided by law. 26 |

| 30 | 29 | | (d) The treasurer and the tax collector of Arkansas County shall 27 |

| 31 | 30 | | receive compensation that shall be determined by the Arkansas County Quorum 28 |

| 32 | 31 | | Court within the minimum and maximum compensation range prescribed by the 29 |
