EDUCATION SPECIAL LICENSE PLATE; AND FOR OTHER 14

FOUNDATION OF THE MID SOUTH; AND TO 21
ADDRESS THE INVENTORY OF THE MID -SOUTH 22
COMMUNITY COLLEGE EDUCATION SPECIAL 23
LICENSE PLATE. 24

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 26

SECTION 1. Arkansas Code Title 27, Chapter 24, Subchapter 14, is 28
amended to add an additional section to read as follows: 29
27-24-1433. Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid South. 30
(a) The Secretary of the Department of Finance and Administration 31
shall create and issue a Make -A-Wish Foundation of the Mid South special 32
license plate in the manner and subject to the conditions provided for under 33
this subchapter. 34
(b) The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid South special license plate 35
shall be: 36 HB1654

(1) Designed by the Department of Finance and Administration in 1
consultation with Make -A-Wish Foundation of the Mid South; and 2
(2) Numbered consecutively. 3
(c) The procedures concerning costs for issuance under § 27 -24-4
1404(c)(1)(A) shall apply. 5
(d) The department shall issue a special license plate under this 6
section to a motor vehicle owner upon payment of: 7
(1) The fee required by law for registration of the motor 8
vehicle; 9
(2)(A) Thirty dollars ($30.00) to cover the design-use 10
contribution. 11
(B) The design-use contribution shall be remitted monthly 12
to Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid South to be used exclusively to promote 13
and support Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid South; and 14
(3)(A) A handling and administrative fee of ten dollars 15
($10.00). 16
(B) The handling and administrative fee of ten dollars 17
($10.00) shall be: 18
(i) Deposited into the State Central Services Fund 19
for the benefit of the Revenue Division of the Department of Finance and 20
Administration; and 21
(ii) Credited to the division as supplemental and in 22
addition to all other funds that may be deposited for the benefit of the 23
division. 24
(C) The handling and administrative fee shall not be 25
considered or credited to the division as direct revenue. 26
(e)(1) A special license plate issued under this section may be 27
renewed annually or replaced under the procedures set out in § 27 -24-1405. 28
(2) The division shall remit the fees collected under § 27 -24-29
1405(b)(2) for the renewal of a special license plate issued under this 30
section on a monthly basis to Make -A-Wish Foundation of the Mid South. 31

SECTION 2. DO NOT CODIFY. Mid-South Community College education 33
special license plate. 34
(a) The Department of Finance and Administration shall not print, 35
produce, or acquire additional Mid -South Community College education special 36 HB1654

license plates. 1
(b) The Mid-South Community College education special license plate: 2
(1) Shall continue to be available for issuance and renewal 3
under § 27-24-1005 until the existing supply of Mid -South Community College 4
education special license plates is exhausted; and 5
(2) Is deemed to have been repealed for purposes of § 27 -24-6
111(b)(1)(A). 7
