| 24 | 22 | | (a) There is created the Arkansas 2036 Commission. 20 |
|---|
| 25 | 23 | | (b) The purpose of the commission is to: 21 |
|---|
| 26 | 24 | | (1) Promote a suitable statewide observance of the two hundredth 22 |
|---|
| 27 | 25 | | birthday of Arkansas; 23 |
|---|
| 28 | 26 | | (2) Explore the possible construction of a commemorative landmark 24 |
|---|
| 29 | 27 | | that promotes tourism to the state; 25 |
|---|
| 30 | 28 | | (3) Cooperate and assist the Division of Arkansas Heritage with 26 |
|---|
| 31 | 29 | | programs commemorating the two hundredth birthday of the state; and 27 |
|---|
| 32 | 30 | | (4) Provide assistance for the development of programs, 28 |
|---|
| 33 | 31 | | projects, and activities promoting the history and heritage of the state. 29 |

| 34 | 32 | | (c) The commission shall consist of eight (8) members to include: 30 |
|---|
| 35 | 33 | | (1) The Director of the Division of Arkansas Heritage or his or 31 |
|---|
| 36 | 34 | | her designee; 32 |

| 37 | 35 | | (2) The Secretary of the Department of Education or his or her 33 |
|---|

|---|
| 39 | 37 | | (3) Two (2) members appointed by the Speaker of the House of 35 |

| 45 | 41 | | (4) Two (2) members appointed by the President Pro Tempore of 1 |
