24	24	BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 22

26	26	SECTION 1. Arkansas Code § 19 -11-801(b), concerning the policy and 24
27	27	definitions related to the procurement of professional services, is amended 25
28	28	to read as follows: 26
29	29	(b) It is the policy of the State of Arkansas and its political 27
30	30	subdivisions that political subdivisions shall follow the procedures stated 28
31	31	in this section, except that competitive bidding shall not be used for the 29
32	32	procurement of legal, medical, emergency medical, ambulance, financial 30
33	33	advisory, architectural, engineering, construction management, and land 31
34	34	surveying professional consultant services. 32

37	37	statements of qualifications and performance data and restrictions on 35
38	38	competitive bidding in relation to the procurement of professional services, 36 HB1949
