| 23 | 22 | | (a) Effective January 1, 2027, the offices of sheriff and tax 20 |

| 24 | 23 | | collector in Perry County, Arkansas, shall be separate offices. 21 |

| 25 | 24 | | (b) At the 2026 general election, the electors of Perry County shall 22 |

| 26 | 25 | | elect both a sheriff and a tax collector, and each officer so elected shall 23 |

| 27 | 26 | | take office on January 1, 2027. 24 |

| 28 | 27 | | (c) The sheriff and the tax collector in Perry County shall each give 25 |

| 29 | 28 | | bond for the faithful performance of their respective duties as provided by 26 |
