Johnson 5 6 7 HOUSE RESOLUTION 8 TO DESIGNATE THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY AS NATIONAL 9 CHILDREN'S DENTAL HEALTH MONTH. 10 11 12 Subtitle 13 TO DESIGNATE THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY AS 14 NATIONAL CHILDREN'S DENTAL HEALTH MONTH. 15 16 WHEREAS, the future of the State of Arkansas is dependent to a large 17 extent on the good health of its families; and 18 19 WHEREAS, good health can be achieved in part through good dental habits 20 learned early and reinforced throughout life; and 21 22 WHEREAS, research shows that a balanced diet, proper oral hygiene, and 23 preventative dental care can prevent tooth decay and reduce dental -related 24 illnesses that cause school -aged children in the United States to miss 25 thirty-four million (34,000,000) school hours annually, starting as early as 26 grade one (1), lost hours that exacerbate socioeconomic disparities; and 27 28 WHEREAS, National Children's Dental Health Month is an opportunity for 29 the citizens of the State of Arkansas to unite and join in its observance in 30 order to raise public awareness about the importance of good oral health for 31 all children, 32 33 NOW THEREFORE, 34 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL 35 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 36 HR1029 2 02/04/2025 2:09:07 PM ADF039 1 THAT the House of Representatives recognize the importance and practice 2 of good dental health, especially in children, to ensure the well -being of 3 generations to come in the State of Arkansas and designate the month of 4 February as National Children's Dental Health Month. 5 6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 7 presented to the leaders of Delta Dental Plan of Arkansas and the Delta 8 Dental of Arkansas Foundation, Inc., by the Chief Clerk of the House of 9 Representatives. 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36
