WHEREAS, Arkansas native Izzy Higginbottom has been a star player with 18
the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville women's basketball team during the 19
2024-2025 season; and 20
21
WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom graduated from Batesville High School 22
Charter and is the daughter of Rachel and Greg Mosier and Nathan 23
Higginbottom; and 24
25
WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom played her freshman season for the 26
University of Missouri Tigers, then played two (2) seasons for the Arkansas 27
State University at Jonesboro Red Wolves; and 28

WHEREAS, during her historic 2023 -2024 junior-year season playing for 30
the Red Wolves before her transfer to the University of Arkansas at 31
Fayetteville, Izzy Higginbottom was an All -Sun Belt First Team selection and 32
a top ten (10) scorer in the National Collegiate Athletic Association; and 33

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom said of her excitement to become a Razorback 35
during the 2024-2025 season, "As a little girl who grew up in the Natural 36 HR1108

State, I was always a huge Razorback fan . . . From the time I started 1
playing, I knew my dream was to be a Razorback"; and 2

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom leads the Southeastern Conference and ranks 4
third in the National Collegiate Athletic Association in scoring average with 5
twenty-four and four-tenths (24.4) points per game, and she has registered 6
thirty (30) double-digit scoring games, including twelve (12) Southeastern 7
Conference games; and 8

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom currently leads the National Collegiate 10
Athletic Association in total points at seven hundred eighty (780); and 11

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom recorded at least twenty -five (25) points in 13
seventeen (17) games including nine (9) in Southeastern Conference play, the 14
most in the National Collegiate Athletic Association; and 15

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom logged four (4) or more assists in fifteen 17
(15) different games during the 2024 -2025 season; and 18

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom leads the National Collegiate Athletic 20
Association in freethrows made at two hundred forty -two (242), and leads the 21
Southeastern Conference and ranks ninth in the National Collegiate Athletic 22
Association in freethrow percentage at ninety and six -tenths percent (90.6%); 23
and 24

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom ranks third in the Southeastern Conference 26
and sixth in the National Collegiate Athletic Association with two hundred 27
fifty-one (251) field goals; and 28

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom logged a career -high forty (40) points 30
against Florida this season to become just the fourth player in Razorbacks 31
program history to reach this mark; and 32

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom set a Razorbacks record for the longest 34
streak of thirty-plus point games in program history with three (3) straight 35
against the University of Kentucky, Texas A&M University, and the University 36 HR1108

WHEREAS, against Texas A&M University on January 30, 2025, Izzy 3
Higginbottom finished with thirty -three (33) points, ten (10) rebounds, and 4
seven (7) assists for her first career double -double; and 5

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom was named the Southeastern Conference Player 7
of the Week after scoring thirty -eight (38) points and leading Arkansas to a 8
win over Boston College in the Southeastern Conference/Atlantic Coast 9
Conference Challenge; and 10

WHEREAS, three (3) of Izzy Higginbottom's games sit in the top ten (10) 12
of the highest scoring games in Razorbacks women's basketball history, and 13
these include thirty -eight (38) points against Boston College, forty (40) 14
points against the University of Florida, and thirty -eight (38) points 15
against the University of Georgia; and 16

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom was named an All -American honorable mention 18
from the United States Basketball Writers Association and the Associated 19
Press, and is the first Razorback to appear on either list since Chelsea 20
Dungee during the 2020 -2021 season, 21

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL 24
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 25

THAT the House of Representatives honor University of Arkansas at 27
Fayetteville Razorbacks basketball player Izzy Higginbottom for her 28
incredible achievements that bring renown to her team and to the State of 29
Arkansas. 30

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 32
presented to Izzy Higginbottom by the Chief Clerk of the House of 33
Representatives. 34
