BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 19

SECTION 1. Arkansas Code ยง 15 -23-203 is amended to read as follows: 21
15-23-203. Director. 22
The Arkansas Waterways Commission may employ a Director of the Arkansas 23
Waterways Commission as authorized by law and fix the salary of the director 24
within the limitations of funds appropriated therefor to assist the 25
commission in the performance of its duties under this subchapter. 26
(a) The Director of the Arkansas Waterways Commission shall be 27
appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Governor and upon confirmation 28
by the Senate. 29
(b) The director shall report to the Secretary of the Department of 30
Commerce. 31
