2828 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 25
2929 STATE OF ARKANSAS, AND BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, A MAJORITY OF ALL 26
3030 MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH HOUSE AGREEING THERETO: 27

3232 THAT the following is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of 29
3333 the State of Arkansas, and upon being submitted to the electors of the state 30
3434 for approval or rejection at the next general election for Representatives 31
3535 and Senators, if a majority of the electors voting thereon at the election 32
3636 adopt the amendment, the amendment shall become a part of the Constitution of 33
3737 the State of Arkansas, to wit: 34

4242 qualifications of electors, is amended to read as follows: 1
4343 (a)(1) Except as otherwise provided by this Constitution, any person 2
4444 may vote in an election in this state who is: 3
4545 (1)(A) A citizen of the United States; 4
4646 (2)(B) A resident of the State of Arkansas; 5
4747 (3)(C) At least eighteen (18) years of age; and 6
4848 (4)(D) Lawfully registered to vote in the election. 7
4949 (2) A person who is seventeen (17) years of age and otherwise 8
5050 qualified to vote in an election in this state may vote in the following 9
5151 elections at which one (1) or more nominees are chosen to be voted upon at a 10
5252 general election if the person will be eighteen (18) years of age on or 11
5353 before the date of the general election: 12
5454 (A) A preferential primary election; and 13
5555 (B) A general primary election. 14

5757 SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This amendment is effective on and after 16
