WHEREAS, President Donald J. Trump has nominated former Governor of 20
Arkansas Michael Dale "Mike" Huckabee as United States Ambassador to Israel 21
in recognition of former Governor Huckabee's extensive experience, passion, 22
and commitment to the United States -Israel alliance; and 23

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee was a three -term Governor of 25
Arkansas, is a Baptist minister, and is well -known as an advocate for Israel, 26
and therefore he brings a unique combination of political expertise, faith -27
driven values, and personal ties to the Israeli region; and 28

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee has been a vocal supporter of 30
Israel's right to sovereignty and self -defense, rooted in his personal 31
beliefs and unwavering support for democracy in the Israeli region; and 32

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee's nomination highlights the universal 34
importance of the United States -Israel relationship, particularly as he has 35
been nominated as the first non -Jewish United States Ambassador to Israel in 36 SR34

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee has demonstrated strong ties to 3
Israel through frequent visits, leadership of evangelical tours emphasizing 4
the spiritual and historical significance of the Holy Land, and his belief in 5
Israel's right to self -determination and defense, as recognized by Christians 6
United for Israel; and 7

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee's extensive experience as a three -9
term Governor equips him with the skills necessary to navigate the 10
complexities of diplomacy and to foster peace while advocating for United 11
States interests abroad; and 12

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee's background as a Baptist minister 14
provides a unique perspective on the cultural and religious dynamics of the 15
Israeli region, further strengthening the shared values and deep -rooted 16
connection between the United States and Israel; and 17

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee's nomination comes at a critical 19
time, offering hope for the restoration of peace and security in the Middle 20
East following the October 7, 2023, attacks, as well as his commitment to 21
addressing pressing issues such as the safe return of hostages and the 22
rejection of Hamas, 23

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 26
STATE OF ARKANSAS: 27

THAT the Senate support the nomination of former Governor of Arkansas 29
Michael Dale "Mike" Huckabee as United States Ambassador to Israel and urge 30
former Governor Huckabee's swift confirmation to advance the enduring 31
partnership between the United States and Israel, promote peace in the 32
Israeli region, and strengthen one of the United States's most important 33
alliances. 34

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 36 SR34

transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate to President Donald J. Trump, 1
members of the United States Senate, and relevant government agencies urging 2
