CREATIVE CULTURE CATEGORY. 21

WHEREAS, the City of Cabot was recognized by Arkansas Business as a 23
2024 Trendsetter City in the Technology and Security category for its 24
broadband initiative; and 25
26
WHEREAS, Arkansas Business Trendsetter City status is a status which 27
recognizes cities and towns throughout the State of Arkansas whose innovative 28
initiatives for community development and economic growth inspire change and 29
make a difference in Arkansas, improving local quality of life and 30
encouraging sustainable economic development; and 31

WHEREAS, the City of Cabot partnered with Connect2First to develop a 33
comprehensive fiber optic network that covers every resident and business in 34
the city limits, a twenty million dollar ($20,000,000) bond project that has 35
boosted economic development, improved health care and educational access, 36 SR42

and made the City of Cabot one of Arkansas's first "multi -gig" cities; and 1

WHEREAS, the City of Cabot also received an honorable mention in the 3
Arkansas Business Tourism Development and Creative Culture category for 4
Gametime at the Grounds, a regional indoor mega sports complex that is the 5
first and only one of its kind in the State of Arkansas; and 6

WHEREAS, Gametime at the Grounds in the City of Cabot is a one hundred 8
twenty-eight thousand square foot (128,000 sq. ft.) sports facility boasting 9
nine (9) full-sized high school regulation basketball courts that transition 10
to seventeen (17) full -sized volleyball courts or twenty -seven (27) 11
pickleball courts, and the facility also features a large indoor turf area 12
designed for regulation indoor soccer and softball and baseball batting 13
practice; and 14

WHEREAS, Gametime at the Grounds is a project expected to generate 16
significant revenue for local businesses and strengthen the reputation of the 17
City of Cabot as a sports hub; and 18

WHEREAS, the City of Cabot's designation as a Trendsetter City by 20
Arkansas Business reflects the city's role in advancing regional prosperity 21
with creative strategies and community collaboration and is a powerful 22
testament to the city's strong position for future growth in business and 23
development; and 24

WHEREAS, the City of Cabot was featured in the December 16, 2024, 26
edition of Arkansas Business magazine, and was further celebrated at the 27
Arkansas Municipal League's annual Winter Meeting in January 2025; and 28

WHEREAS, the City of Cabot's commitment to visionary leadership, 30
resident engagement, and successful growth strategies places it among 31
Arkansas's most pioneering communities, and the city strategically balances 32
the revitalization of its historic downtown with innovation of technology for 33
the future, 34

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 1
STATE OF ARKANSAS: 2

THAT the Senate recognize the City of Cabot as recipient in 2024 of a 4
Trendsetter City award from Arkansas Business. 5

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 7
provided to the leaders of the City of Cabot by the Secretary of the Senate. 8
