WHEREAS, the Magnolia High School Panthers dance team won the Class 1A -18
4A state championship held on November 16, 2024; and 19

WHEREAS, Panthers team members are seniors Olivia Langford and Addyson 21
Faulk, juniors Madison Schmittou, Avery Matthews, Johnelle Smith, Grace 22
Chandler, Miyah Berry, Charlie Stewart, Krysten Gooden, and Jazirea Monk, 23
sophomores Sade Barker, Kara Labit, Anna Owen, and Mackenzie Mayberry, and 24
freshmen Hadley Emerson and Kly Bella Young; and 25

WHEREAS, junior Madison Schmittou earned All -State Honors; and 27
28
WHEREAS, senior Olivia Langford was an All -Star Squad Selectee; and 29
30
WHEREAS, in the earlier regional competition at Lake Hamilton, the team 31
was named Southern Spirit Highest Scoring Team in all classifications; and 32

WHEREAS, the Panthers were led by Head Coach Emily Manion -Barker and 34
Coach Melissa Matthews; and 35

WHEREAS, Head Coach Emily Manion -Barker said of the season and the win, 1
"They always understand the assignment and when the times get tough, they go 2

NOW THEREFORE, 5
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 6
STATE OF ARKANSAS: 7

THAT the Senate recognize the Magnolia High School Panthers dance team 9
as the 2024 Class 1A -4A state champions. 10

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 12
presented to Head Coach Emily Manion -Barker by the Secretary of the Senate. 13
