An Act

 

amending title 16, chapter 1, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 16-143; relating to qualification and registration of electors.

 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 16, chapter 1, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 16-143, to read: START_STATUTE16-143. Automatic voter registration prohibited Unless otherwise provided by law, an agency, department or division of this state or any person acting on its BEHALF and any political subdivision of this state or any person acting on its behalf may not register a person to vote unless the person affirmatively requests to register to vote. END_STATUTE 

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 16, chapter 1, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 16-143, to read:

START_STATUTE16-143. Automatic voter registration prohibited

Unless otherwise provided by law, an agency, department or division of this state or any person acting on its BEHALF and any political subdivision of this state or any person acting on its behalf may not register a person to vote unless the person affirmatively requests to register to vote. END_STATUTE
