6666 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 41, chapter 12, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-1735, to read: START_STATUTE41-1735. United States capitol police; notification; authority; use of state monies prohibited A. Before taking any official law enforcement action in this state, a United States capitol police officer shall notify the department of public safety unless either of the following applies: 1. The notification would impede the United States capitol police officer's duties. 2. The United States capitol police officer is certified as a peace officer in this state pursuant to section 13-3875. B. If a United States capitol police officer does not notify the department before taking official law enforcement action in this state, the United States capitol police officer shall notify the department as soon as practicable after taking the action. C. This state or a political subdivision, law enforcement agency, employee or agent of this state may not knowingly assist or use any ASSETS or state monies to engage in any activity that aids a United States capitol police officer.
