7676 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 44, chapter 9, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding article 27, to read: ARTICLE 27. EMERGENCY ALERT TECHNOLOGY START_STATUTE44-1383. Definitions In this article, unless the context otherwise requires: 1. "emergency alert technology" means a hands-free technology that sends an audible warning to motor vehicle drivers who are in the path of or are approaching an emergency vehicle. 2. "mOTOR VEHICLE" HAS THE SAME MEANING PRESCRIBED IN SECTION 28-101. 3. "Portable wireless communication device" HAS THE SAME MEANING PRESCRIBED IN SECTION 28-914. END_STATUTE START_STATUTE44-1383.01. Emergency alert technology; vehicles and devices; requirement Beginning January 1, 2025, all new motor vehicles and portable wireless communication devices that are sold in this state must contain emergency alert technology.
