(TEXT OF BILL BEGINS ON NEXT PAGE) Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 9, chapter 4, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 9-500.49, to read: START_STATUTE9-500.49. Homeless; restrooms; water; state preemption A. A municipality shall provide twenty-four-hour daily access to municipality-maintained public restrooms and potable water for use by homeless individuals. B. homelessness is a matter of statewide concern. the requirement pursuant to subsection A of this section is not subject to further regulation by a municipality. END_STATUTE Sec. 2. Title 11, chapter 2, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 11-269.27, to read: START_STATUTE11-269.27. Homeless; restrooms; water; state preemption A. A county shall provide twenty-four-hour daily access to county-maintained public restrooms and potable water for use by homeless individuals. B. homelessness is a matter of statewide concern. the requirement pursuant to subsection A of this section is not subject to further regulation by a county.
