An Act

 

amending title 8, chapter 4, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 8-509.02; relating to child welfare and placement.

 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 8, chapter 4, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 8-509.02, to read: START_STATUTE8-509.02. Foster homes; inactive licenses A. a foster home licensee who holds an active license pursuant to section 8-509 and whose license has not been previously revoked may request an inactive license from the department. b. During the period of time a licensee holds an inactive license, the licensee is not eligible for placement of a child and is not subject to the renewal fees and training and visitation requirements that are prescribed for a foster home licensee who holds an active license.  c. An inactive license is valid for a period of five years. a licensee who holds an inactive license may apply to reactivate the license at any time during the five-year inactive period in the same manner as the renewal of an active license pursuant to section 8-509. d. The department may terminate the license of a licensee who holds an inactive license and who does not reactivate the license by noon of the expiration date listed on the inactive license. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 8, chapter 4, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 8-509.02, to read:

START_STATUTE8-509.02. Foster homes; inactive licenses

A. a foster home licensee who holds an active license pursuant to section 8-509 and whose license has not been previously revoked may request an inactive license from the department.

b. During the period of time a licensee holds an inactive license, the licensee is not eligible for placement of a child and is not subject to the renewal fees and training and visitation requirements that are prescribed for a foster home licensee who holds an active license.
