An Act

 

amending title 36, chapter 21.1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-2230; relating to emergency medical services.

 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 36, chapter 21.1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-2230, to read: START_STATUTE36-2230. Emergency administration of emergency contraception; designation by director A. a physician who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 13 or 17 or a nurse practitioner who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 15 and who is authorized by law to prescribe drugs may issue a standing prescription drug order authorizing the dispensing of emergency contraception.  B. The director shall designate emergency contraception that may be used pursuant to this section based on an evaluation of the emergency contraception's safety and efficacy. END_STATUTE 

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
