An Act

 

amending title 45, chapter 2, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 45-456; relating to the groundwater code.

 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 45, chapter 2, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 45-456, to read: START_STATUTE45-456. Foreign ownership; groundwater pumping; definition A. A corporation or other entity in which the government of another country has a controlling interest is not eligible to pump groundwater in this state.  B. For the purposes of this section, "controlling interest" means direct or indirect ownership of at least eighty percent of the voting shares of a corporation or of the interests in a company, business or person other than a corporation. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 45, chapter 2, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 45-456, to read:

START_STATUTE45-456. Foreign ownership; groundwater pumping; definition
