An Act

 

appropriating monies to the department of health services.

 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Appropriation; department of health services; ovarian cancer tests and biopsies; report; exemption A. The sum of $1,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2024-2025 to the department of health services to reimburse health care providers and health care organizations that perform ovarian cancer tests and biopsies for persons who would otherwise not be able to pay for the test or biopsy. B. If the department spends monies appropriated by subsection A of this section in a fiscal year, on or before September 1 following the close of that fiscal year, the department shall report to the governor, the president of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives and the secretary of state on the number, type and dollar amount of the services provided, categorized by health care provider and health care organization. C. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
